故事发生在民国时期的江南某地。苏宅是本地首屈一指的富户，苏老爷（刘松仁 饰）娶有四个太太，自从五太太梓桃（胡静 饰）进门后，妻妾儿女成群的苏府发生了不可名状的改变，家族中男男女女以为他人不知的内心秘密被抽丝剥茧般一一剖开。原来这个最后进门的梓桃竟然悉通心理学，她看似不经意间的言谈举止处处展现着聪慧的心机。为了惩罚苏家人曾经的罪恶，获取暗藏的金银财宝，梓桃与二姨太（翁虹 饰）、三姨太（白珊 饰）及大少爷展开了斗法游戏，数个回合下来，梓桃成了苏家的当家人。二少爷明远（陈楚河 饰）的无私渐渐感化了梓桃的心，她向他坦诚了当初的用心……。五年前，林家将林灵儿嫁给张家的继承人张风为妻，林灵儿不从，私自逃了出去，恰逢秦铭在地球红尘历练，走火入魔，重伤濒死，林灵儿舍身相救！两人一夜缠绵。后来，林灵儿生下了一个女儿，被家族所唾弃，林家也由此得罪了张家。。A film director gathers his favorite actresses, those he worked with and those he loved.
